About Photoshow
In 1950, two years after its inauguration, The Lytham St Annes Photographic Society (LSAPS) held its first public exhibition of its members’ work. (For more information, see A bit of History on the Home Page). Apart from being interrupted by Covid, this exhibition, now called Photoshow, has been held every year since.
Photoshow is held annually, in early August and is open for a fortnight, with free admission to the public. It is probably the largest photographic exhibition held by any club in the North West with 300 prints and 300 digital images on display, none of which have appeared in any previous Photoshow.
Photoshow is also a competition which is separated into two sections – Prints and Projected Digital Images (PDI). Each section is further sub-divided into five categories; Colour, Mono, Nature, People and Scapes. Two independent judges are appointed to review respectively the Prints section and the PDI section. The results of the judging are displayed on the award-winning images at the Photoshow exhibition.
