1st Set Subject Competition (2023/24) – Knock Out
The first Set Subject competition of the season was judged on 16th Nov by Martin Pickles of North Cheshire Photographic Society. The competition was in the form of a Knock-Out and Martin gradually whittled down the entry in a series of rounds, explaining why each image was eliminated. By the last round, with only 5 images remaining, Martin then chose his winning image.
The final round images are listed below. Congratulations to Mary Kirkby, whose image Alpha Male Gelada Baboon was the overall winner. Congratulations also to Stuart Cahill who was the top placed photographer on the evening, winning out in a tie-break with Carol Watson and Mike Williamson.
