2025-26 Season Competitions
As previously advised we will be running a single league for Prints, and a single league for PDIs next season. We will then split those leagues in two for the following seasons, with the intent to have around 40% of the participating members in the upper league in each discipline.
The league positions will be determined from Three Open and One Genre competition in each discipline. The PDI Genre is Mono (the 3rd competition of the season), whilst the Print Genre is Scapes (the 6th competition of the season).
Members can enter a maximum of two images in each competition, so 8 Prints and 8 PDIs in total. For each member, the lowest scoring entry in each discipline will be discounted in terms of final league placement – so each league will be scored from the members 7 best scores. Members entering less than 8 images will also have their lowest scoring image discounted. This is to prevent a single poor result from upsetting the standings for the entire season. As in previous seasons, new members who miss the first Open competitions may enter 3 images in the later Open competitions to catch up.
In the event of a tied score, the placings will be decided on a ‘count-back’ system – the member with the most 2-‘s, then most 19’s etc.
Competition 9
The final competition is not part of the league scoring, but will have its own award. In a similar vein to last seasons themed “Movie Titles” set subject, we are again looking for some quirky interpretations. This time the theme is “Songs from the Seventies”. So we want images aligned to 1970s top 40 hit song titles.
Just think what you could do with Smoke on The Water, Fat Bottomed Girls or Crazy Horses.
In a twist to the norm, we will be judging this competition internally, with two of our club judges, and two (much more) normal members scoring. This may evolve further during the season…. Watch this space.
