2nd Open Print Competition – (2019/20)

The 2nd Open Print competition of the season was held on 19th December and was judged by Tillman Kleinhans ARPS AFIAP/s DPAGB BPE4* from St Helens Camera Club.  He had reviewed the prints beforehand and gave a lot of good feedback mainly regarding toning down highlights, cropping to improve composition and even changing heads or eyes if the original subject was not quite right.  He used a wide range of marks, reserving the very top marks for only a few images.  This did result in some quite low scores, particularly for images he thought were soft or not quite in focus.

The featured image for this competition is Lapwing At Marton Mere by Clive McDonald, which was taken on an LSAPS Photowalk outing.  Tillman gave this the top score of 20pts in the Intermediate Group.
