The 1st Set Subject competition was in the form of a Knock-Out and was held on Thursday 15th November, judged by Nick Hilton from Southport.  A large entry field was quickly whittled down until Nick was left with just two images, and in the end his wining image was Derwent Dawn by Carol Watson.  Carol also scored the highest total

The 1st Open Digital competition of the season was held on Thursday 18th October and was judged by Phil Garlington, a professional photographer with 40 years of experience.  It was interesting to obtain a perspective on what makes a good photograph from a professional photographer as compared to most judges who come from a club photography background.  Phil particularly liked

The 1st Open Print Competition of the 2018/19 season was judged on 27th September by Graham Currey.  Graham entertained us with his slightly idiosyncratic style of judging and a few amusing anecdotal asides.  A total of 70 images were entered and Graham awarded a number of 20 point scores before choosing his favourite few from the Intermediate and Advanced Groups,
