Elaine Cook
My love of photography began in 1995 whilst accompanying my daughter on her GCSE photo shoots. My daughter dropped the subject once she passed her exams, but I was hooked. My first camera was a Minolta, and my medium of choice was Fuji Velvia 50 slide film. A trip to India and a new Nikon D3100 DSLR strengthened my passion for this hobby and, apart from a three-year break to write and publish a novel, I have enjoyed working to improve my photography ever since. Coming to the decision that photography needn’t be a solitary hobby, I joined LSAPS in 2022 and am enjoying learning new aspects of photography with my Nikon D750 and mixing with supportive and like-minded people.
