2026 L&CPU Individual Competition

Fading Floral Dance by Carol Watson
The 2026 L&CPU Individual competition was judged on the weekend of 9th/10th May, and once again LSAPS scored some notable successes. Overall there were 843 Prints and 1973 digital images entered from 234 Photographers, slightly up on last year with more prints in particular being entered. LSAPS was represented by 14 photographers.
The scores are decided by three judges each scoring between 2 and 5 points, similar to an Exhibition. In general, a 2 indicates something wrong with an image, 3 is a competent image, but not good enough to be accepted. 4 is good enough to be accepted and 5 means it may be good enough for an award (though awards are only decided at the end in a final review by all three judges). In an exhibition, an image is usually accepted if it scores 12 or above.
All the LSAPS scores can be viewed in the pdf document below. This year LSAPS had 11 members achieving at least one image scoring 12 and above, as shown in the table below. Carol Watson also achieved 5 Awarded images, including an outstanding Gold Medal for Fading Floral Dance in the Colour Print Category, whilst Gordon Watson had 1 Awarded image.
